Lancaster City Cordon Count

The Lancaster City Cordon Count of Traffic Flows 2006 reports the results of a data collection effort conducted at the boundary of Lancaster City every other year. Total vehicles, type of vehicle, and persons per vehicle are counted as vehicles cross over the city boundary. This data is compiled, summarized, and compared to data from previous years. The results help to evaluate and quantify average vehicle occupancy, transit usage in the city, the amount of vehicles entering and exiting the city, the adequacy of roadways, and the effects of road upgrades and construction.
